In 2023, our ACIDFEST music festival, a collaboration between the Liverpool Psychedelic Society and Creation Dream Machine, takes place in two different countries: it returns to Iceland, where it all started, and hits the USA for the first time, with an all-dayer that is set to be he hottest SXSW Unofficial party in Austin, Texas this year!
ACIDFEST ICELAND: May 20-28, 2023
ACIDFEST was originally launched in Iceland, in May 2022, with a 3-day mini festival at The Freezer in Rif, and an event the following weekend at Kex Hostel. It was our first time in Iceland and we loved it so much, that we decided we had to return in 2023 with an even bigger event.
For 2023, ACIDFEST ICELAND will take over more venues – and not just in Reykjavik! Our psychedelic festival in Iceland will launch at the ace Kaktus gallery in Akureyri, over the weekend of 20th and 21st May 2023 with bands, jam session and film screening!
After Akureyri, ACIDFEST will move to the capital Reykjavik, with FREE ENTRY events at 12 Tonar (Thursday 25th May), Kex Hostel (Friday 26th) and Lucky Records (Saturday 27th, afternoon).
The main ACIDFEST ICELAND event will take place at Gaukurinn on Saturday 27th May, and will be ticketed. Limited advance tickets are available here.
On Sunday 28th May we’ll have an ACIDFEST closing party at Lemmy, one of our favourite bars in Reykjavik, designed in tribute to Lemmy’s favourite hangout in LA, Rainbow Bar & Grill.
A Get Together of Artists from Iceland and Abroad
Acidfest Iceland will bring together artists from the UK, USA and some of the brightest talents in the current Icelandic music scene, from veterans such as Henrik Bjornsson (of Singapore Sling and Dead Skeletons) showcasing his new project The Cult Of One, to bright new talents such as 25-year old Annalisa.
Above all, we hope this ACIDFEST will be an opportunity for people to discover new music they’ll love…

Good news: most ACIDFEST ICELAND events will be FREE ENTRY! But make sure to get your free RSVP tickets today! There’s also an option to donate – and we hope some of you will, to help us bringing more Acidfest events to Iceland in the future!
The only ticketed event will be the main ACIDFEST show at Gaukurinn – one of the top music venues in Reykjavik – on Saturday 27th May, which will feature The Cult of One, Thee Lucifer Sams, Dada Pogrom & more.

ACIDFEST AUSTIN: MARCH 17
The first ACIDFEST event of 2023 is yet again a collaboration between the Liverpool Psychedelic Society and Creation Dream Machine, an official offshoot of Alan McGee’s Creation Records. For this event in Austin, TX we are also collaborating with People Parties Places, promoters from Houston, TX. This FREE ENTRY event coincides with SXSW 2023 and is sponsored by Milam & Greene Whiskey and by Forgotten Wave.
ACIDEFEST will coincide with the world-famous South By Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival… and our event is pretty much sure to be one of the hottest SXSW unofficial parties! We couldn’t have picked a better venue – the popular Far-Out Lounge, which will also be the home for this year’s Austin Psych Fest, in April.
Our All-Dayer event will be FREE ENTRY and starts from 12pm-6pm, featuring an ace selection of acts from across the world – including some official SXSW showcasing artists: Balthvs, The Courettes, Lucifer Sams, Cactus Flowers, Rocking Chair Reality Room, The Living Pins and Sparklestars.
